Day 2: BANGKOK

In the morning, after enjoying an energizing breakfast, we’ll head out to see a sight that will leave us in awe: “The Grand Palace of Bangkok,” a complex of buildings in Bangkok that served as the official residence of the King of Thailand from the 18th century until the mid-20th century. The palace, however, is still in use, as many royal rituals are held here by the King each year. Afterward, we’ll head to Wat Pho, known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, a Buddhist temple in the Phra Nakhon district. Return to the hotel and overnight stay. Meals included: Breakfast and lunch.

After enjoying our delicious breakfast, we’ll have the entire day free to participate in any OPTIONAL ACTIVITY (85 USD per person, minimum 2 people), such as visiting the famous Floating Market, taking the train in Mae Klong—where we can capture the most authentic photo of Thailand—or simply exploring the streets of this beautiful city. Return to the hotel and overnight stay. Meals included: Breakfast.

Day 5: SUKHOTHAI / LAMPANG / CHIANG RAI

After breakfast, we’ll set out to visit the archaeological ruins of the first capital of the Kingdom of Siam. The Kingdom of Sukhothai is considered the golden age of Thai civilization, and the religious art and architecture of that era are regarded as the most classic examples of Thai styles. The original capital was surrounded by three concentric fortifications and two moats, with four gates providing access. We’ll tour the historical park of this ancient capital and its most important temples. Our next stop will be at a Muay Thai school—Thailand’s national sport. We’ll learn the basic techniques of this sport from an instructor and former boxing champion.

Lunch. We’ll continue on to Chiang Rai. Upon arrival in Chiang Rai, we’ll visit the Rong Suea Ten Temple, also known as the Blue Temple. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay. Meals included: Breakfast and lunch.

Day 6: CHIANG RAI / CHIANG MAI

Breakfast. We’ll set out to visit the white temple, Wat Rongkhung. We’ll continue on to Chiang Mai, the Rose of the North and the region’s most important city. Its origins date back to the Lanna Kingdom in the 13th century. The old city is surrounded by a moat and enclosed by walls. Upon arrival, we’ll visit Wat Doi Suthep, or the Sacred Temple of the Mountain, one of Thailand’s most visited and most beautiful temples. Its origins are shrouded in a beautiful legend about a monk named Sumanaost who, in the year 1300, found a bone relic said to have belonged to the Buddha himself.
